Mark your calendars: the PCRA Ergathon is back! Our Fall fundraiser, the Ergathon will be held at the Studio (89 Wolfs Ln. Pelham, NY) on November 16th from 8am - 10am.
Funds raised will go toward our dock project, a $150,000 endeavor to continue PCRAs access to water for rowing, and supporting PCRA’s scholarship program.
More about PCRA's Dock Project
PCRA is fortunate to row on the Glen Island Park lagoon, a protected body of tidal water that we share with other Olympic hopefuls and outdoor enthusiasts. While we rely on the Park for much of our infrastructure, the dock is PCRA's responsibility. Over the past two decades, hurricane damage and other natural forces have reduced the usable water around our dock, making low-tide conditions increasingly untenable. This critical project will ensure our access to the lagoon for decades to come.
How the Ergathon Works
We’ll gather as a team at 8am at the Studio. Teams will be assigned by coaches and will be a mix of athletes from the novice, varsity, development, and masters teams. Each crew of 4-6 rowers will share one erg and will row for 60 minutes, rotating turns at intervals of their choosing. The team with the most meters after 60 minutes wins and will receive a prize.
